Kathleen Berger– Treasurer

Kathleen Berger is currently the treasurer on the board for the Dakota Center.  She has been a member of the team since January of 2005. Kathleen is also a budget analyst at the University of Dayton where she has been employed for 19 years.  She received her B.S. in Accounting and her M.B.A. from the University of Dayton.  Her hobbies include running and gardening.

Susie Goedde

Susie Goedde, board member, is a real estate agent in Cincinnati and was asked by Fr. Philip Hoelle to be involved before his passing in 2005. Susie's father, Paul Reisinger, was the first President of the Dakota Center in 1965. She grew up going to Camp Dakota as her parents were very active and took a strong interest in seeing the future of the Dakota Center’s success. Susie and her husband Phil have been married for 27 years and have 3 children. They are members of St. Susanna Parish in Mason, OH. She is the youngest of the 7 Reisinger children in which several have been involved volunteering their time at the center.

Denise Ford

Vonda (Denise) Ford is a current board member and the Dakota Center’s Drill Team business manager.  She is also the administrative assistant for the Nuclear Medicine Department at Dayton's VA Medical Center, PTO President for Trotwood Madison
Middle School, and she serves as a volunteer assistant coach for the Trotwood Express Girls basketball team.  Vonda, a Dayton native, has two daughters, enjoys watching movies, traveling and activities improving the well being of kids.

Benjy Klein

    Benjamin P. Klein, board member, is the editor of Dakota Center Voice, a member of the Development Committee, and serves as Bulk Mail Manager.  Benjy retired in 2003 after over 30 years of retail management, including eleven years as co-owner of a five-store multi-million dollar ceramic tile store chain.  He was born and raised in Southern California and has lived in the Dayton area since 1994.  In addition to his retail career, Benjy also has an extensive writing resume, including an entertainment column for a major Los Angeles newspaper covering local sports, radio and television ads, and for an eighteen-month period wrote, produced, and hosted a one-hour weekly sports radio talk show. He has written "How-to-Guides" for ceramic tiling and wrote, produced, and hosted a six-part ceramic tile radio infomercial.

Gerald R. Kotler

Educated at Stanford University (PHD Materials Science), Carnegie Mellon University (MS Metallurgy) and Polytechnic Institute of New York (BS Metallurgical Eng), Jerry has had a career in the Industry (including Ford and Westinghouse and other smaller companies) with various R&D positions up to VP Engineering.  The latter part of his career (27 yrs.) was as President of Management Recruiters of Dayton, where he distinguished himself as Account Executive of the Decade for over 600 offices and over 3000 AEs nationwide.

Bro. Ron Overman

Bro. Ron Overman, S.M. member of the Marianists and a board member of the Dakota Center, is a native of Dayton. He attended Chaminade High School and the University of Dayton where he received both undergraduate and graduate degrees.  Bro. Ron currently works at the University of Dayton in the Finance and Administrative area.  Previous to his current position, he was the director of the Marianist Mission; which is a direct mail fundraising organization for the Marianist Province of the U.S. He has also held the position as assistant treasurer and treasurer for the Marianist Province of Cincinnati.

Quincy E. Pope Sr.

Quincy E. Pope Sr. is the Acting Police Chief for the City of Trotwood. He is a graduate of Wright State University, where he received a Masters of Public Administration Degree. He is also a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC) and is a Certified Law Enforcement Executive and Certified Public Manager.

Gerald W. VonderBrink was chief financial officer from 1961 to 1992 of The University of Dayton.  In addition to all budgeting, accounting, and financial management, he was responsible for maintenance, building programs, the bookstore, printing, the post office, laundry, auditing, university investments, and property acquisitions. He currently volunteers at the homeless shelter of St. Vincent DePaul.  He is Treasurer of the University of Dayton Library Advancement Association and Vice President of Places, Inc., an organization that operates six group homes for mentally ill adults. It monitors about 160 mentally ill adults who live independently.

Roger W. Brucker, Board Member, Chair of Development Committee. Roger is a retired advertising executive from OIA Marketing Communications and former teacher of marketing at Wright State University. He serves as a marketing consultant for several clients. He has written five books on cave exploring subjects, Brucker has four adult children and four grandchildren. He and his wife are long-distance bicycle travelers, agility dog trainers, and cavers. Brucker is an elder in the Dayton Xenia’s Christian Fellowship.

Keith McFarland is a Portfolio Manager and Assistant Vice President for Fifth Third Bank in Western Ohio.  He has over 20 years of investment experience and manages a wide variety of portfolios – including portfolios for trusts, corporations, governments, non-profits, endowment funds, and high net worth individuals.  Keith is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  He has served on various boards and finance committees.  Keith is a 2005 graduate of the Black Leadership Development Program from Parity, Inc. and the Dayton Urban League.   He is married with two daughters.

Bro. Jack Somerville, S.M.

Jack Somerville is a Marianist brother who serves as the chair of the Dakota Center Facilities Committee.  He is the Director of Facilities at Mount Saint John which is a 150 acre campus in Beavercreek, OH.  Jack is an electrician, plumber, welder, and an Ohio licensed stationary steam engineer.  He also has extensive experience in HVAC and energy management.  Over the years, he has served a combined 8 years of service in the countries of Ireland, Zambia and Kenya.  Music is one of his deep interests as he is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist.  

Bro. Ed Zamierowski, S.M.

Brother Ed Zamierowski has been a Marianist Brother for 56 years and has spent most of that time teaching Biology, Botany, and Zoology  in Dayton, Asaba, Nigeria, and Nairobi, Kenya at the High School and University level.  His experience in development started with a 5-village project called “Projet Tapis Vert” in Nigera, Africa, continued in Dayton with the Edgemont Solar Garden and the “Grow With Your Neighbor” community garden program, an accounting service for non-profits, and advisor to beginning NDCs . In 1994, he directed the SWEAT AmeriCorps that served inner-city Dayton needs followed by the Semester of Service Program at UD’s Fitz Center.  He joined the Dakota Center’s board in its 30th year, serving as chair of the Building Committee that planned the new construction and, since moving to Barnett St, chairs the Program Committee.  Bro. Ed enjoys photography, gardening, model trains, and recently, playing an alto saxophone.

Brian Roberts– Legal Counsel

Marilyn Schwieterman has been a member of the Dakota Center Board since March 2000 and is currently serving on the Executive Committee.  Marilyn retired from the position of Resource Coordinator at the North American Center for Marianist Studies in 2001.  Retirement allows her to visit her four children and their families (six grandchildren) who all live out of state; she has one family in each time zone of the continental US!  She enjoys gardening, camping, and music--especially singing.  Marilyn has been a lay Marianist for over 25 years having served on the Leadership Team for the Marianist Lay Network of North America and continues to serve as Archivist for the organization.  She is a member of the Nazareth Lay Community, a small Christian community within the Marianist tradition.
